Description

Currently ASM/Head of Cyber Security, Clare has considerable experience as a lecturer having taught computing in both Further and Higher Education as well as on a freelance basis. In 2011 she began lecturing in IT Security and was Programme Leader for the Foundation Degree in IT Security at one of USW’s partner colleges and is now responsible for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses at USW’s Treforest and Newport campuses. She has delivered presentations on Cyber Security at USW, Newport Summit and Digital 2017 and works’s closely with industry to ensure that our content is relevant and current. She leads on the development of outreach activities in cybersecurity to young people. She has delivered a significant amount of training to staff on Teaching, Learning & Assessment, Digital Literacy, Teaching HE in FE, Technology Enhanced Learning and more. In 2016 she became a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is passionate about teaching, learner engagement and digital literacy, and is currently researching how authenticity and originality of students’ work can be ensured. She is also a mentor for the TSL scheme and HEA at USW, and on the Women In Universities Mentoring Scheme (WUMS).
