Computing technology has become a part of most peoples lives in advanced western societies. With this personalised computing power comes opportunities, and of course challenges. We’re not quite cyborgs yet, but we aren’t too far away from this new reality in an increasingly connected world. In this lecture, Nick discusses the impact these pervasive technologies have had on our lives and the impact they have had on society and human interaction.
Nick is course leader and level one tutor for the BA Sociology and Politics at Nottingham Trent University in the U.K. He also teaches across a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is module leader for Technology and Society (level 3), Contemporary Social Lives (level 1), Research in Society (level 1), Sociology and Politics dissertation (from 2014/15) and Contemporary Global Issues (Masters level).
