Hippocrates once said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”

Can food ever be considered medicine?  Can certain foods extend our lives? Professor Bob Rastall, Head of the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences at Reading University explores the role of different food types and how they can have positive and negative effects on our health.  By the end of this lecture you should have increased your understanding of foods that can affect the body beyond adequate nutrition and be able to make more informed choices in future.
